Recycled over 500 Mexican Veladoras (votive candles) from different parts of the city of Tijuana/Ensenada/Tecate. I crossed the recycled jars from Mexico to USA to construct a giant Veladora. On the front façade of the piece I used a photographic print of Native Americans who were part of the “Indian Village” from the Balboa Park Panama Exhibition in 1915. To me the recycled votives are like spent casings that once carried hopes and prayers.
